Kefir
What is Kefir?
Milk Kefir is a fermented milk drink with a slightly effervescent, viscous consistency and a tart creamy taste similar to liquid yogurt or buttermilk. Although there are many different types of fermented milk around the world, Milk Kefir is unique because it is made with Milk Kefir “Grains”. Milk Kefir Grains are not true grains, but are actually symbiotic colonies of lactic acid bacteria and yeast in a protein and lipid matrix. Milk Kefir Grains originated from the North Caucasus Mountains a few thousand years ago. Nomadic peoples used Milk Kefir Grains to preserve milk for long periods of time, long before refrigeration. Unlike store-bought kefir, which is mass-produced by using either a freeze-dried powdered culture or diluted and freeze-dried grains yielding only a fraction of the probiotics, our Milk Kefir is made with fresh and active Premium Organic Milk Kefir Grains that have never been dried or frozen!
Benefits:
Milk Kefir contains a wide variety of bioactive compounds, including organic acids and peptides that contribute to its health benefits. Milk Kefir is a more powerful and potent probiotic than yogurt. Milk Kefir contains up to 61 strains of good bacteria and yeast which benefit health in numerous ways, aiding in digestion, weight management, and mental health. Studies show that certain rare probiotics, which are only unique to Milk Kefir, have potent antibacterial properties. Full-fat Milk Kefir is not only a great source of calcium, but also Vitamin K2, which plays a central role in calcium metabolism, leading to improved bone health and density and lowering the risk of osteoporosis. Milk Kefir probiotics can help restore the friendly bacteria in your gut, which may help with various digestive concerns such as diarrhea, IBS, and ulcers. Milk Kefir is generally well tolerated by people with lactose intolerance due to the lactic acid bacteria, produced via fermentation, that turns the lactose into lactic acid. In some studies, Milk Kefir has been shown to suppress inflammatory responses related to allergies and asthma. With studies showing that it boosts your immune system, aids in digestive problems, improves bone health, lowers blood pressure and blood glucose levels, plus so many more purported health benefits, no wonder Milk Kefir is considered a Superfood!
How to Use?
